The company

gmc Gesundheitsmedien und Congress GmbH was founded in 1929 as Berliner Medizinische Verlagsanstalt and is managed by Douglas Grosse in the 3rd generation.

After the closure of the publishing house in 1933 by the National Socialists and its re-establishment in 1945 after the Second World War and the end of National Socialism, no other publishing house besides the Julius Springer and Thieme publishing houses has influenced German-language dermatology as much as the Berliner Medizinische Verlagsanstalt, now Gesundheitsmedien und Congress GmbH.

Despite much turbulence and upheaval, we have been able to maintain our independence as a family-run company. This year we are celebrating two anniversaries: 95 years as a publisher and 45 years of Kosmetische Medizin.

In addition to the magazines Kosmetische Medizin and Cosmetic Medicine as well as books, another mainstay is the organisation of events and the creation of video formats.
